CONFUSION: Tom Perez says Dems have ’57 state strategy’

Well, it’s one less state than Barack Obama said he had visited when he was campaigning for president.

During a press conference in Utah today, Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez said the party has a “57 state strategy” for America.

A person could be heard guffawing in the background as he didn’t correct himself.

As Barack Obama was campaigning for president in 2008, he thought there were 58 states.

“It is wonderful to be back in Oregon,” he told a crowd. “Over the last 15 months we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States.

“I’ve now been in 57 states?” Obama said, seemingly attempting to recollect his travels. “I think one left to go.”
